Dogtown Realty was founded in 2013 by Assaf Raz, a long-time Venice resident with deep roots in Westside real estate. Jeff Konecke joined the agency from day one, contributing to the company’s growth. Both Assaf and Jeff were influenced by Jack Hoffman and Bob Goodfader, visionaries who helped shape the Westside market. Since then, Dogtown has represented everything from modest homes to major architectural landmarks, including the Dennis Hopper compound designed by Brian Murphy and Frank Gehry.

But the point was never just to sell real estate. It was to approach it with care, creativity, and a sense of responsibility to the people and neighborhoods involved.

Assaf has said he started Dogtown to “empower the community by inspiring a new culture of locals serving locals,” and that still holds. Process is valued as much as outcome.
